About Pugmarks

Pugmarks was founded 21 years ago in Pune by 3 passionate conservationists including an IITian and a naturalist working for WWF.

Our core mission is “To sensitise the youth to the joy of the outdoors and nature conservation while enhancing their personal development”. 

Each year thousands of youngsters camp with us in their vacations at amazing places like Manali, Andamans, Kanha, Dandeli and more. 

Pugmarks is led by a dynamic team which has over 20 years of experience in adventure travel and ecotourism. Pugmarks has won many awards over the years, most notably the National Award from ATOAI for excellence in "Community-based adventure"

  • Day 1
    Departure from Pune / Mumbai by Flight to Dehradun
    Stay at Hotel in Dehradun
  • Day 2
    SANKRI (1,950M) DRIVE: 193 KM/7HR.
    Drive to Sankri village, where our trekking route will start. This mountain journey is 193 km long, so we’ll have halts for lunch and toilets. As you reach Sankri by afternoon, you’ll see little crowd as this little village is trailhead for many treks like Bali Pass, Har Ki Dun, Borasu Pass, Bharadsar Lake to name few. We’ll be staying here for the night to get acclimatize to the altitude and weather. Overnight in the hotel

  • Day 3
    SANKRI - JUDA KA TALAB (2,700M) TREK 4KM/ 5HRS
    The next day our trek will start after breakfast to Juda ka Talab. This trail is 4 km, crossing village Saur, some water stream and pine forest. Here the trail goes steep for some meters, some zigzag path and reaches to the wide ridge and then to Juda ka Talab. This talab/pond freezes during winters and beautiful snowcapped peaks surround it. One of the famous peaks that you can spot among many is Swarga Rohini Peak. So, enjoy the day view of peaks and gaze stars at night during this overnight camp.

  • Day 4
    JUDA KA TALAB - KEDAR KANTHA BASE (3400M) (TREK 4 KM/4 HRS)
    After breakfast start trek to Kedar Kantha Base. The route is beautiful with vast fields of snow and patches of green in between them. Views are open on all sides and will keep one busy with the camera. It is going to be an exhausting but enjoyable hike today. The Kedar Kantha base or campsite is a vast open snow ground of the size of two football fields surrounded by misty mountains from all sides and a stream running nearby. From nearby we get fabulous views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch & Kalanag peaks. Overnight in Tented Camp.

  • Day 5
    KEDAR KANTHA BASE - KEDAR KANTHA PEAK (3810M) – HARGAON (TREK 09KM)
    The distance to the summit is not long but is reasonably steep and depending upon the snow conditions we will select the route leading to the summit. It will take anywhere between 2 to 3 hours to get to the top. The views are outstanding from the summit. You get to see all the mountains of the Yamunotri and Gangotri range and also of Kinner Kailash range and other ranges in Himachal. Also, there are some great views of the underlying valleys. After spending some time at the top we will start descending and walk all the way down to basecamp. after lunch, we trek down to Hargaon for overnight camping,

  • Day 6
    HARGAON – SANKRI (TREK 05KM)
    Morning after breakfast start your trek to sankri that is 05 km from Hargaon, it will take you 4,5 hrs to reach at the Samkri, overnight stay in hotel at Sankri.

  • Day 7
    SANKRI – DEHRADUN - DEPART DRIVE 205 KM (8-9 HRS)
    After the trek, last day of this trip will be a long drive back to Dehradun. We’ll start the day early with breakfast, afternoon reach at Dehradun our cab will drop you at the Dehradun Railway station.
    Departure by DDN Kota Special (Train) from Dehradun to Delhi at 22.50.

    Arrival at Delhi at 04.35(am)
    Departure from Delhi to Mumbai / Pune by early morning flight

      One haversack and one small shoulder bag (NO TROLLEY BAG OR SUITCASE)

      Comfortable clothes for the no. of days (track Pants, t-shirts, tops, etc) (Avoid Jeans)

      Climate would be very cold Carry enough woolen clothes like a jacket, monkey camp, Inner Fleece Gloves gloves, Thermo Flask, Waterproof trekking pant, and jacket, etc.,

      Suitable nightwear, shorts, 3/4 s, one shawl/ chaddar, sweatshirt, Raincoat, or windcheater.

      Undergarments, towel, napkin/ handkerchief, ladies’ sanitary sets

      Trekking shoes, socks, floaters, Sun cap/ hat, Water bottle, Trekking Poles, other trekking gears according to your requirement

      Personal kit containing toilet accessories, sunscreen, Lip Balm, cold cream, odomos. sanitizer

      Flashlight with extra fresh batteries. UV Protected Sunglasses, camera, binoculars, (optional at your own risk)

      Personal medicine, if any, with a note explaining doses, time, quantity, etc. with the name of the child, No need to send any extra medicine

      Around 1500/- for meals during travel and for shopping

      The original photo id for flight, flight journey denied without photo id

      Carry some food like cookies and Candy.
